Below is the work of Angela Leon through her years as a practicing architect at various firms.
The Architecture Portfolio
Architecture is a calling for me.
It’s the perfect creative, problem-solving career for an artsy person who loves to make things. I’ve spent years gaining experience on a multitude of project types which have given me a thorough understanding of the architectural process from concept design through construction administration.
Along the way, I developed a strong passion for architectural design technology which allows me to visualize and inform projects like never before. This enables me to implement new strategies into my practice and intelligently work through emerging technologies as they come and go.
Wanderloster Studio
2024 – Present | Founder, Lead Designer
After leaving my corporate job to start a family, I founded my design firm Wanderloster Studio. The work is rooted in my desire to establish a personal design aesthetic that seamlessly blends my many interests including architecture, technology, art, sustainability, and future forward research. My practice aims to develop a new kind of process for how architecture is designed, built and lived in that considers ever-changing advances in technology and a responsibility for stewardship and respectful care of the earth.
Mark Todd Architects
January 2022 – July 2022 | Residential Designer
In my time with Mark Todd architects, I had the opportunity to design and document custom homes of many different scales and styles including: a 2,000 sqft ranch home, a 3,000 sqft barndominium, a 5,000 sqft contemporary home addition, and an 11,000 sqft southern colonial inspired home. I also developed the revit template with custom, parametric families and implemented a visualization/virtual reality workflow.
Gensler, Houston
2013 – 2022 | Design Technology Specialist, Architectural/Technical Designer, Interior Designer
Many of my years were spent working on project teams to design, document and build projects with a focus on workplace and hospitality. As my passion for innovation grew, I shifted into a design technologist role where I worked with design teams to incorporate advanced digital design strategies into projects. This was accomplished through project work, individual interactions, studio training sessions, office wide presentations and the founding/management of the design lab group who experimented with and researched design tech.
