This project involved designing a resort-style getaway as an addition to an existing home, enhancing the family gathering space while creating a private retreat for the couple. The original house featured a large family gathering space with a kitchen, living, and play area. The new design seamlessly integrates with the existing structure, providing two comfortable bedrooms for visiting family, a versatile play area/gallery, and an expanded garage with essential utilities.
The addition also includes a separate casita connected by a covered walkway, offering a secluded retreat for the couple. This private area features a resort-style bathroom, a contemporary bedroom overlooking the pool and landscaped backyard, a small fitness room, luxurious closets, and a dedicated office.
The property, set on a couple of acres surrounded by trees, enhances privacy and creates a resort-like ambiance. Central to the backyard is a pool, providing a focal point for relaxation and entertainment, while the heavily landscaped backyard creates a serene and inviting outdoor space. This addition transforms the property into a true resort-like retreat, perfect for family gatherings and private relaxation, making it an ideal space for the couple to enjoy their retirement years.
